This is a romance set in Canada. The heroine is an Englishwoman called Alison Leigh who decides to move to Canada because she has some difficulties at home. She believes she has a job in Winnipeg but on arriving there this is not the case. Bindloss charts her progress to find alternative work and a developing romance.
